Absent: Makini Walker-Sharp, Mary Kokinda, Melisa Dettbarn, Colleen Doyle
Old and New Business
- Discussion continued concerning the health insurance questions and Mandatory Health Fee. We are further researching, as a comparison is being conducted by Crys Cassano, a meeting with the Student Services Director will be scheduled by Shaza Khan, and questions are being answered by Ann McMican.
- WGSA Social Event: Sledding at Mendon Ponds Park was proposed. Shana will contact Colleen Doyle to have a sign-up soon.
- WGSA Social Event: Doctoral Commencement (5/14/05), and Warner Diploma Ceremony (5/15/05) are scheduled. WGSA discussed celebrating "milestone" events, such as finishing comps, graduating master's, or dissertation defenses (etc.) in a less formal party atmosphere combined with end of the year party. Shaza Khan will check with Will on restaurant ideas. Tentative date of May 12, a Thursday has been discussed.
- WGSA Community Service: Shaza reported that there is a tutoring program 9-11 a.m. on Saturdays at School #7 in Rochester City, year round. We could select dates and promise a number of Warner students to tutor for this program as a community service. Additionally, this could turn into an extended project; we may be able to connect this to Teaching, Curriculum, and Change course. Shana will contact Jeannine Dingus about this possibility.
- Announcement: There will be an event to share the formal and informal policies for successful competency completion procedures. Welles-Brown Room in March 11, 5-7pm has been selected.
- Warner School conference is being planned for future date (TBD). All graduate students will be welcome to attend and a call for papers will be issued.
