Minutes from WGSA meeting on November 18, 2004:
Old Business
Doc information meeting on comps was well attended (50 students); the notes from each department will be posted on the Web site soon.
Health insurance and Mandatory Health Fee: concerns about these issued have been investigated; since it is university policy, the avenues to change this are very limited.
New Business
Melisa Dettbarn will investigate possible connections for tutoring at School #7 on Saturdays from 9-11 a.m.
Melisa Dettbarn expressed an interest in "passing the torch" of community service through to the next group of students.
Social events: TBD, save the date May 12 for some type of end of the year party.
Discussion about master's degree students having a forum to discuss requirements and portfolio-this would be very beneficial to the student body and should be pursued.
Feedback component needs to be in place so two-way communication can occur between administration and students to provide clarity to programs of studies at the master's level. (i.e. survey could be administered during last class of semester, or WEBCT survey, etc.)
Student body WGSA Meeting tentatively scheduled for 4/28 with pizza!
