Brian Brent
Associate Professor and Chair of the Educational Leadership Program
Brian Brent’s expertise is in educational finance and decision making, as it applies to K-12 schools and university settings. He teaches Fiscal Policy Issues in Higher Education Decision Making for Educational Leaders I: Analyzing Problems in Schools and Universities; Designing and Conducting Research in Educational Leadership and Policy.

Raffaella Borasi
Frederica Warner Professor and Dean
While Raffaella Borasi’s formal training focused on mathematics education and school reform, her role as dean of the Warner School for the past four years led her to develop a scholarly interest in the area of higher education administration and she is currently one of the co-PIs in the University-wide Entrepreneurship Education Campus Initiative, a grant funded by the Kauffman Foundation. She teaches Entrepreneurial Skills for Educators.

Mary Jane Curry
Assistant Professor
Curry’s main research focus is on academic writing, with a particular interest in how academicians whose first language is not English cope with the expectation of publishing their work in research journals, most of whom use English as the only language medium. Her research includes a focus on how non-traditional student, including English language learners, grapple with the communicative expectations of higher education. She directs our new Writing Support Services for Warner students and teaches Academic Writing for Educators.

Kara Finnigan
Assistant Professor
Finnigan’s expertise is in the areas of educational policy and mixed research methods. She teaches Mixed Methods; Survey Design; Interview and Focus Group Techniques; Case Study Research.

Judith Fonzi
Associate Professor (clinical) and Director of the Warner Center for Professional Development and Education Reform
Judi Fonzi’s research interests include professional development in all educational arenas, including teaching and administration in higher education and health care services. She is currently involved in a collaborative projects aimed at empowering health care professionals (doctors, nurses, etc,) specializing in gerontology to be more effective in “teaching” their patients about their health situation and ways to stay healthy. She teaches Professional Development Design and Evaluation.

Doug Guiffrida
Associate Professor
A counselor by training, Doug Guiffrida has recently focused most of his research on issues related to college student retention, especially as it relates to minority student populations. He teaches College Retention: Theory, Research, and Practice

Logan Hazen
Visiting Assistant Professor
A former Director of Residential Life at the University of Rochester, Professor Hazen's research and teaching interests are in the area of higher education student affairs. He teaches Administration of Student Affairs in Higher Education, Residential Life, and supervises students' internships.

Tyll van Geel
Professor Emeritus
Tyll van Geel’s expertise is in the areas of educational law and decision making. He teaches Higher Education Law; Decision Making for Educational Leaders II: Making Decisions in Schools and Universities; Problems in Educational Leadership.

Andrew Wall
Assistant Professor
Wall's research and teaching interests span several areas within higher education administration and student affairs. He has published extensively on issues related to alcohol abuse and other health issues on college campuses. Among other courses, he teaches Contemporary Issues in Higher Education, Leadership and Management in Higher Education and Governance, Policy and Administation in Higher Education.

Stephanie Waterman
Assistant Professor
Waterman has expertise in several areas within higher education, with a particular interest on issues of diversity and equity. Among other courses, she teaches Diversity and Equity in Higher Education, History of Higher Education, and College Students and Student Development Theory.
