University of Rochester
Chief among the benefits Warner offers students is the resources
of the University of Rochester, consistently listed among
the nation’s top-ranked research universities in the
country. A recent analysis of research productivity placed
Rochester twelfth among all private research universities
in the country, along with Cornell, Columbia, Chicago, Duke,
Harvard, John Hopkins, Princeton, Stanford, and Yale. Among
the University’s faculty and alumni are seven Nobel
and 11 Pulitzer Prize winners.
At the center of the University is The College, with its
prestigious undergraduate program and renowned graduate programs
in engineering, political science, economics, and physics,
to name but a few. The Warner School is complemented by the
University’s many other fine professional schools, including
the Eastman School of Music, the Simon School of Business,
the School of Medicine and Dentistry, and the School of Nursing.
Collaboration among scholars across the schools contributes
to a rich intellectual climate, and multidisciplinary inquiry
is a fundamental Warner principle.
The University has some 1,000 faculty members and roughly
7,000 full-time students and 1,500 part-time students. Of
the full-time students, approximately 4,400 are undergraduates
and 2,800 are graduate students. The Warner School student
body totals nearly 300, with a third attending full-time,
and two-thirds attending part-time. Half of Warner’s
students are enrolled in doctoral programs, and half in master’s
programs. Rochester offers academic excellence on a personal
scale. It is a university that spans the universe of knowledge—yet
provides a wealth of opportunity for individual achievement
and recognition.
The Warner School is located on the 85-acre River Campus,
the University’s main campus, two miles south of downtown
Rochester, New York.
