Lunts Successfully Defends Dissertation
Ellen Lunts, a doctoral student in teaching and curriculum,
successfully defended her dissertation "Math Teachers'
Perceptions and Practices of Using Their Publicly-Accessible
Class Web Sites to Support Parental Involvement and Instruction,"
in November.
Lunts' research examines the phenomenon of teachers' class
Web sites and suggests that class Web sites have the capacity
to play a major role in teachers' instructional and parental
involvement practices.
Lunts received her first master's degree from the Pedagogical
University of Omsk, Russia. In 1998, she moved to the United
States and the following year began her studies at Warner.
In 2000, she earned her second masters degree and in March,
2004 expects to receive her Ph.D.
