The Warner School will host a a workshop on “Education
and Social Activism,” Feb. 6 from 5-7 p.m., at the Margaret
Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development,
Dewey Hall Room 1-101, The University of Rochester River Campus.
On Jan. 27, the Warner School held a colloquium to address
the question of “What Constitutes Research for Social
Justice?” All events are part of the Warner School’s
Martin Luther King Jr. Education Series.
Education and racism was the topic of the first session in
the series, a panel discussion held Jan. 19. The panel included
individuals from educational, political, and community contexts
who addressed the issues of school segregation, the legacy
of the Brown vs. Board of Education decision, and the
influence of racism on public education today.
