Curren Gives Presentations
Randy Curren, professor, educational leadership, presented
"Is Moral Education in Public Schools Constitutional?"
at Roberts Wesleyan College on December 12. On December 28,
he presented "Educational Measurement and Knowledge of
Other Minds," for the Association for Philosophy of Education
in Washington, D.C.
Fegan Joins Warner Staff
Cricket Fegan joined the Warner staff as a secretary in the
Office of Development and Communications. Fegan works part-time
and is generally in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

Finnigan Publishes Article
Kara Finnigan, assistant professor, educational leadership,
wrote the article "The Effects of Organizational Context
on Teacher Expectancy," published in the December issue
of Educational Administration Quarterly.
Lewis Elected to PRSA Board
Aimee Lewis, communications and Web manager, has been elected
to the Board of Directors for the Rochester Chapter of Public
Relations Society of America (PRSA) and holds the office of
secretary. PRSA is the world's largest professional organization
for public relations practitioners.
Two Faculty Members Promoted
Howard Kirschenbaum, chair, counseling and human development,
has been promoted to professor. Part-time faculty member,
Bonnie Rubenstein, counseling and human development, has been
promoted to associate professor.
Kirschenbaum's Course
Highlighted in Publication
The course, Values and Character Education, taught by Howard
Kirschenbaum, professor and chair, counseling and human development,
was featured in Practices of Teacher Educators Committed to
Character: Examples from Teacher Education Programs Emphasizing
Character Development, a publication of the Character Education
Partnership. The publication provides examples of schools
of education that are making efforts to include preparation
in character education in their pre-service teacher education
programs. Kirshenbaum's course was one of three programs and
four courses profiled from around the country.
Kirshenbaum was also asked to submit his professional papers
to the Humanistic Psychological Archives (HPA) at the University
of California at Santa Barbara. The HPA collects, organizes,
preserves and makes available primary resources relating to
humanistic psychology, its antecedents, and its development.
The archive contains and solicits materials generated by the
founders, pioneers and major individuals, organizations, centers,
and institutions participating in humanistic psychology.
Monroe-Baillargeon Chosen Task Force Liaison
Ann Monroe-Baillargeon, assistant professor, teaching and
curriculum, is the task force liaison for the Higher Education
Support Center (HESC) for Systems Change Task Force on quality
Inclusive Schooling. Selected by colleagues in the region,
she holds one of seven posts across the state. HESC is located
at Syracuse University. The task force goals include developing
and sustaining high quality inclusive teacher preparation
programs and engaging and supporting the professional development
efforts of selected schools in New York State.
Rubenstein Presents at Meeting
Jerry Rubenstein, part-time faculty, counseling and human
development, presented "Somatherapuetics—the Body
of Experience in Psychotherapy: Theory, Technique, Practice
and Demonstration," at a January meeting of the Genesee
Valley Psychological Association.
Santora Publishes Article
Ellen Santora, assistant professor, teaching and curriculum,
wrote the article, "Social Studies, Solidarity, and a
Sense of Self," published in the November/December issue
of The Social Studies.
