Students Organize Second Annual Day of Service

About 30 faculty, staff, and students from Warner volunteered their time at the local organizations Foodlink, Rochester Boys and Girls Clubs, Lifespan, House of Mercy, and Alternatives for Battered Women as part of the second annual Warner Day of Service in October. Participants split into groups and traveled to the organizations where they assisted with various tasks, including fall cleaning and maintenance, donation sorting, and one-on-one activities with residents and constituents.

The day of service, which was organized by the Warner Graduate Student Association, coincides with "Make a Difference Day," a national day of helping others and celebrating neighbors helping neighbors.

Inspired by the Warner School's commitment to social justice and a drive to make a difference, part of the goal of the day of service is to raise awareness and support for social involvement to help the disadvantaged and disempowered, as well as to further the work done throughout the year by local service organizations.
