Erickson Named Distinguished Reviewer
Deb Erickson, professor and director of academic programs and student services, has been designated as a “distinguished reviewer" by the Buros Institute of Mental Measurements after publishing in six or more volumes of the Mental Measurements Yearbook series.

Hursh Invited to Teach at Wisconsin-Madison
David Hursh, associate professor, will be an invited visiting professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison in summer 2006. His course is titled “High-stakes testing, neoliberalism, and democracy in education.”

Curry Co-Authors Article
Mary Jane Curry, assistant professor, co-authored the article “Professional Academic Writing by Multilingual Scholars: Interactions with Literacy Brokers in the Production of English-Medium Texts,” which appeared in Volume 23, Issue 1 of Written Communications.

Guiffrida Appointed to Editorial Board
Douglas Guiffrida, assistant professor, has been appointed for a three-year term to the editorial board of the Journal of the National Academic Advisors Association.

Curren Elected APA Committee Chair, Publishes Articles
Randall Curren, professor, was elected to a three-year term as chair of the American Philosophical Association (APA) committee on the teaching of philosophy, and membership on the APA board of officers.

In addition, Curren has recently published “Philosophy of Education, Ethical and Political Issues,” in Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2nd edition (MacMillan Reference Books, 2005); “Public Reason and the Foundations of Security,” in Nawal Ammar, ed., Homeland Security: Controversies, Strategies and Impact (Kent State UP, 2006); “Justice and the Threshold of Educational Equality,” reprinted in Michael Boylan, ed., The Ethics of Teaching (Ashgate, 2006); and “Connected Learning and the Foundations of Psychometrics: A Rejoinder,” in the February 2006 issue of Journal of Philosophy of Education.
