"I'm not sure if standardized tests really measure achievement. So I'm not sure if the discrepancies in the test scores really give us an accurate account of what students' intellectual or academic ability is," says Sonia James-Wilson, an assistant professor at the Warner School, about results from local standardized math and reading exams that show African-American and Latino students scoring 20 to 45 points lower than their white classmates.
