Hursh Co-Authors New Book on Contemporary Schooling

David Hursh, associate professor, has co-written the recently published book Twenty-First Century Schools: Knowledge, Networks and New Economies (Sense Publishers, 2006).

Hursh, working with Gerard Macdonald of the Centre for Research in Innovation Management at the University of Brighton, UK, argues that Anglo-American school systems provide a good education for a small minority, but offer inadequate schooling for the majority.

In addition, the authors outline the political and educational changes that are needed to shape school systems which are socially and economically adapted to the new century.
