As several government initiatives are established to fund
and promote more “scientifically-based research in education,”
what constitutes “scientifically-based research,”
especially in the context of education, is by itself quite
controversial. Panelists will be asked to identify what they
think should count as scientifically-based research that could
truly have an impact in improving education.
