Bridging the Engineering Gender Gap
Thursday, March 29, 2007
4 to 6:30 p.m.
RIT campus, James Gleason Building (Building #9)
Bridging the Engineering Gender Gap will guide members of the K-12 community—superintendents, principals, counselors, and also math, science, and technology teachers from middle schools and high schools—through a structured panel presentation which will explore the timely and important questions relating to expanding the future pipeline of women engineers. Topics covered will include: Why don’t young women in our community gravitate to careers in engineering? What problems arise from the lack of women engineers within the United States? Are engineering-related middle and high school curriculum gender-neutral, and if not, how can this be addressed? What are some best practices that encourage women to pursue post-secondary studies in engineering?
To register for the event, visit www.rit.edu/~women by March 23. For more information, call (585) 475-6321.
