Nancy Ares, assistant professor, and her students in ED 506 Concepts and Issues in Social Science Research, invite you to attend their end-of-semester research proposal presentations. Doctoral students from all departments in the Warner School will be presenting their semester-long projects.
A variety of research topics and designs are featured:
- A bilingual/bicultural approach to deaf children’s literacy learning
- Supervisors’ support of reflective practice in K-12 teaching
- Critical literacy and secondary students’ sociopolitical awareness
- Mentoring students’ transitions from middle to high school
- Disenfranchised students and school culture
- Inclusion and inquiry-based mathematics education
- Universities’ support of the academic success of student athletes
- Barriers to strong home-school connections with families living in poverty
- The presence and impact of a digital divide in the Warner School
