Wednesday Lunch Hour - Why Doesn't Research Make it to Practice? Making Connections Between Research and Practice.

Facilitated by teaching and curriculum doctoral student Scott Koch
November 4, 2009
12-12:50 p.m.
Dewey B-315

An article in the September 2009 edition of the Kappan suggests that “Researchers who ponder why so little research makes it into practice should explore how and why certain research bridges the gap.”  In an article reaction session suggested and moderated by Scott Koch, luncheon participants will have the opportunity to react to the six hypotheses advanced in the article and compare that to their experiences.  The article by Penn’s Dean of the Graduate School of Education Andrew Porter and doctoral associate Jennifer McMaken, “Making Connections Between Research and Practice” is attached to this announcement for advanced reading.
