The 20th Annual Summer Institute on Catholic Education: 2009 Fire Up, Fuel, and Focus

Immerse yourself in knowledge and best practices for educators at the 20th Annual Institute on Catholic Education at the Airport Holiday Inn Rochester Airport in Rochester, N.Y. on July 9 and 10, 2009. Parents, catechists, teachers, school administrators, librarians, technology coordinators, and college students from across New York State are invited to participate and share their stories in faith-based schools. Presented by the Catholic School Leadership Program at University of Rochester’s Warner School of Education, the Summer Institute will feature nationally acclaimed educators, including Marc Brackett; Carol Cimino, SSJ; Ruthanne Vitagliano; Kim McLaughlin; Patrick Fox; Joan Vitkus, Desiree Voorhies and Reverend Kevin McKenna, J.C.D.

Who Should Attend
The Summer Institute is designed for parents, catechists, teachers, school administrators, librarians, technology coordinators, and college students from across New York State.

Registration
The general fee includes the program, all materials, refreshments, and luncheons.
Registration forms and fees should be submitted by June 1, 2009.

Registration on or before June 1 is $225 per person. Registration after June 1 is $240 per person. Receive a 10% discount for four or more people attending from the same institution. For religious and private schools, please check with your local public school district to see if title funding can be used for this professional development institute.

Date
The 2009 Summer Institute will be held from 8 a.m. to 3p.m. on Thursday, July 9 and from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on Friday, July 10.

Location
The Summer Institute will take place at the Holiday Inn Rochester Airport, Brooks Avenue and Route 390, Rochester, N.Y.

Group Rate
Institutions and organizations will receive a 10% discount for registering four or more people attending from the same school.

Professional Development
All participants will receive professional development credit through the Warner School of Education at the University of Rochester. Teachers and catechists in the Diocese of Rochester can receive two units of Advanced Catechist Training (ACT) through the Diocese of Rochester.
