| What's The Word? Welcome to the first issue of the Warner Word. We launch this new monthly publication on an experimental basis in response to the requests of many in the Warner community who wanted a vehicle to share news, promote events, and celebrate success in a more timely fashion than the Warner Educator allows. This is your update. We hope you'll rely on it to stay tuned to colleagues' projects and to find out what's happening in the Dean's office and throughout the school. We'll use it to "show off" when alumni, students or faculty members' works are published, featured at conferences or recognized with awards. We'll share news on personal accomplishments and milestones. And we'll report on the progress of activities that serve the whole School. We depend on you to be both our readers and our "contributing editors" each month. Give us ideas for features and news, or volunteer to write a thought-provoking editorial about an issue of special interest to educators. The Word, beginning with the November issue, will be published during the first week of each month. Contributions for upcoming issues are welcome through the 20th of the previous month. While we will strive to make this an inclusive publication, please also know that we will need to make editorial decisions based upon space and timing constraints, as well as long-term content planning. Please give us feedback. We like applause, but can learn even more from your suggestions, ideas, and concerns. It's easy to contribute. Send your ideas to warnernews@rochester.edu. Many thanks, and enjoy! Laura Brophy
