Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Counseling Accelerated Option (ISIS code: CA9)

This program is intended for experienced counselors holding a professional job in the field and interested in improving their practice and advancing in their career. Since it meets all the requirements of our traditional Ed.D. in Counseling, it is CACREP accredited.

Program key features:

  • Required and elective coursework to be completed in two years – 6 consecutive semesters starting in summer – in a specified sequence (assuming transfer of 36 credits of prior graduate coursework)
  • Field-based dissertation, to be completed in the third year of the program with the support of a dissertation seminar
  • Three-year (9 semesters) cohort experience, supported by a cohort seminar in the first two years and a dissertation seminar in the third and last year
