The Gerontological Mental Health Counseling Program requires 60 credits and 1,000 clock hours of supervised practicum and internship. If you complete this program you will be able to apply independently for the NYS licensure as a Mental Health Counselor (must also complete a licensure exam and 3,000 post-master's hours of supervised experience).

V. Elective
(3 credits)

One three-credit course selected from the Counseling and Human Development, Educational Leadership, or Teaching and Curriculum programs courses, in consultation with your advisor.

VI. Additional Requirements

Master's Thesis - completed prior to graduation, currently with Master's Internship II (0)
