Requirements

This 60-hour program meets all requirements for NYS provisional certification as a school counselor and also meets the academic requirements for permanent certification (although you will need to complete two years of full-time counseling in a school setting before being able to apply for permanent certification). When you complete this program you will be eligible to apply for the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) Board Eligible status as a National Certified Counselor (NCC). This program has "Approved" status by the New York State Education Department for provisional certification as a school counselor. Applicants for provisional certification must complete a workshop on recognizing the signs of child abuse.
