Master of Science (M.S.) in Administration with New York
State Certification
(ISIS code: AB5/AM5)
This program is designed for students seeking NYS certification
at the building and/or district leader level who also need or are interested in obtaining a master's degree. Successful completion
of this program qualifies you for a variety of administrative
positions in K-12 public schools, depending on the certification sought.
Prerequisites: Some teaching, pupil service and/or administrative experience; (by graduation) permanent or professional certification in classroom teaching or pupil personnel service.

EDU 407 Curricular and Instructional Leadership
EDU 421 Human Resource Management
EDU 468 Data-Driven School Improvement
Substitution of one of these courses may be possible with
permission of advisor. Candidates seeking only building level certification can substitute EDU 502 with an elective; candidates seeking only district level certification can substitute ED 469 with an elective.
III. Electives
(6 credits)
You are expected to select additional courses from any of
the following areas: educational environment, information
processing, or instructional leadership.
IV. Administrative Internship (ED 498)
(6 credits)
The internship must be a total of 15 weeks full time or equivalent, although it can take place over more than one semester. Learn more about the administrative internship.
