Advanced Certificate in School Building and District Leadership
(ISIS code: AM4)
This program is designed for persons who wish to attain NYS certification
as a school building leader and school district leader without a degree. Successful
completion of this program qualifies you for a variety of
administrative positions in K-12 public schools including: principal, housemaster, supervisor, department chair, assistant principal, coordinator, unit head,
superintendent of schools, district superintendent, deputy superintendent, associate superintendent, assistant superintendent, and any other position having responsibility for general district-wide administration, except those responsibilities defined for school district business leader.
Pre-requisites: M.S. Degree; (by graduation) permanent or professional certification in classroom teaching or pupil personnel service; some teaching, pupil service and/or administrative experience.

EDU 468 Data-Driven School Improvement
Substitution of one of these courses with another Educational Leadership course may be possible with permission of advisor.
II. Administrative Internship (EDF 498)
(6 credits)
The internship must be a total of 15 weeks full time or equivalent, although it can take place over more than one semester.

Note: A total of 60 graduate credits including those earned in this program is also required by New York State in order to obtain school district leader certification.
