Preparing Entry-Level Social Studies Teachers

What kind of educator do you want to be?
Social studies is a dynamic and complex subject that integrates concepts and themes from history, geography, anthropology, sociology, economics, psychology, and the humanities. Master's degrees in Social Studies education prepares teachers who will use and develop this knowledge to engage students in thoughtful discussion and leading to action on important issues. The Warner School prepares Social Studies teachers to understand how to develop appropriate curriculum and instructional strategies for meeting the diverse learning needs of all students. Warner encourages Social Studies teachers to involve students in dialogue, debate, and action related to significant and controversial issues.

The Warner School's programs are flexible to accommodate the interests of individual students. Through coursework, field experiences, and projects, programs can be tailored to focus on a specific certification area or multiple areas.
