Description
The goal of the project is to develop a system that prepares school leaders who have outstanding decision-making skills. By adding several new courses to the curriculum and modifying other courses in the Warner School’s educational leadership doctoral program, the project aims to help superintendents, principals, program coordinators, and other leaders improve their decision making skills with regard to all aspects of local school district policymaking including but not limited to curriculum, facilities, personnel, evaluation, budgeting and the distribution of resources. The coursework redesign will capitalize on the existing body of research and "best practices" regarding decision-making in various fields. The project is grounded on the belief that improving the decision making skills of school leaders, improvements will ultimately be seen in student learning.

Supported by
The Wallace Foundation- Ventures in Leadership Program. The approved grant amount is $44,000.
