Rochester is the third largest urban area in New York State. Situated in upstate New York on Lake Ontario and near the Finger Lakes, Rochester has a unique culture and plenty of activities. Rochester is the birthplace and home of Eastman Kodak Company, Bausch & Lomb, and Xerox Corporation. Claiming more sites on the National Register of Historic Places than any other city its size, Rochester was also the home of women's rights activist Susan B. Anthony and abolitionist Frederick Douglass.
