Diversity and Inclusion at Warner

The Diversity and Inclusion committee is presenting the Wednesday Lunch Hour, Addressing Privilege, on February 20, 2008. Please scroll down for details.

Diversity and Inclusion at Warner
The statement below was constructed with input from students, staff and faculty through a variety of venues to include as many members of Warner’s community as possible. We view this as a living document and our work around diversity and inclusion as ongoing and dynamic. To that end, we seek to foster ongoing discussions of how we can engage in sustained, meaningful dialogue and action about issues of diversity and inclusion. If you have questions, concerns, or would like more information about diversity and inclusion at Warner, please contact one of the committee members pictured below.

Our goals and values:
The Warner Graduate School of Education and Human Development is dedicated to fostering a learning community that represents and builds on the rich diversity of human experiences, backgrounds, cultures, histories, ideas, and ways of living. Consistent with our dedication to education, leadership, counseling, and human development that can transform lives and make the world more just and humane, we recruit, support and learn with and from students, staff, and faculty from the broadest spectrum of human diversity. Likewise, we seek the same through our interactions with the broader local and global community.

Addressing Privilege - Warner Lunch Hour on February 20, 2008
This session is devoted to continuing discussion in the Warner community around issues of diversity and inclusion. The central question for the event is, "How do we address issues of privilege in our work at Warner?" A brief article will be made available in advance to lay out issues for us to consider together in a mixture of whole and small group discussion. Students, staff, and faculty will serve as small group facilitators, and groups' work will be published here on the Warner Diversity page.

To ensure that we have appropriate rooms and enough food, please RSVP to shetherington@warner.rochester.edu by Monday, Feb. 18. This Lunch Hour will be held in Dewey 1-305 from 12:00-12:50.
