Building Accommodations, Accessibility, and Safety

Designated handicap parking is available in the library lot directly outside the rear entrance to Rush Rhees Library. Parking access is also available near the Carlson Library. Ramps and curb cuts provide access to buildings. Please contact the parking office for updated parking information.
Automatic door openers are available at most entrances to Rush Rhees Library.
Magnetic door holders are located on several doors in the old stacks of Rush Rhees Library.
Rush Rhees Library offers card access by way of the elevator in CLARC (room G112), or key access to the elevator by the Art Library. These elevators, along with an elevator located in the old stacks of Rush Rhees Library, are equipped with Braille numbering.
River Campus Libraries provide ADA accessible bathrooms, drinking fountains and telephones.
Fire systems in the River Campus Libraries are equipped with strobe lights and audible sirens.
Signage indicates safe areas of refuge in case of emergencies and the most accessible routes in and out of the stack areas.
