Financial Aid Credits
River Campus

Following receipt of all required documents, financial aid awards received by students will be used as anticipated credits against charges assessed. Questions concerning financial aid awards, including which documents must be submitted, should be directed to the Financial Aid Office by phone (585-275-3226) or via their website: enrollment.rochester.edu/financial-aid/contact/ to find your counselor’s contact information.

Students and/or parents receiving Federal loans may cancel all or a portion of their loan(s) within 30 days of disbursement by notifying the Financial Aid Office in writing.

Students receiving scholarships from sources outside the University should provide documentation to the Financial Aid Office to receive anticipated credit against their student account balance.

Students who are sponsored by a third party: employer, government, outside organization, etc., for all or a portion of their tuition and fees can have the third party billed directly by submitting a letter from their sponsor to the Bursar’s Office.  The letter must state the specific charges the sponsor will pay, as well as any additional information they will require before remitting payment.  A letter must be submitted at the start of each term.  The student will be billed for the portion of their tuition and fees that is not covered by the sponsor, and is ultimately responsible for full payment of their tuition and fees should the sponsor fail to remit payment.

University employees interested in receiving a tuition benefit should contact the Benefits Office, 585-275-7250, for complete details regarding eligibility requirements and available benefits.  Once an employee tuition benefit is approved by the Benefits Office, it will be listed as an anticipated credit against the student account balance. Tuition benefits for spouses and dependent children are processed and approved by both the Benefits Office and the Financial Aid Office before they are listed as an anticipated credit against the student account balance.  Employee tuition benefits will be posted as actual credits upon successful completion of the course(s).

Federal Work Study

Federal Work Study is paid to the student directly, in a bi-weekly paycheck, if the student works on-campus.  Therefore, it is not reflected on the Statement as an anticipated credit.
