One Family, Two Generations, Three DegreesWhen Giuliano Agostinho de Castro ’20 was paralyzed in a car accident at home in Brazil after his first semester, his parents, Marcia and Gilberto, joined him in Rochester to support his recovery. They ended up enrolling as students themselves. Julia Bullock ’09E, whose vocal performances often leave classical music audiences in search of superlatives, is bringing more than her voice to her latest high-profile engagement as the 2018-19 artist-in-residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Along with a tech-minded friend, they developed App MyEar, an iPhone app that renders speech to text. New Associate Vice President for Alumni and Constituent Relations Karen Chance Mercurius, PhD, the current director of alumni relations at Harvard Law School, has been selected to lead the Office of Alumni Relations and Constituent Engagement. Chance Mercurius, an innovative and strategic leader with recognized experience in higher education advancement, executive board and volunteer management, alumni engagement, international program development, coaching, and organizational change and culture, will assume the role on March 18, 2019.
