How do I get onto the Alumni Portal and what services are available through the exchange?

First time visitors need to request a unique ID number to create your account. To request your unique ID number, email alumni@rochester.edu with your name (include maiden and former names), class year, school and address.

 

The Alumni Portal includes online alumni directories, class notes, career networking, Facebook connections, and a regional events calendar.

How can I get a list of classmates?

You can get a list of classmates by logging onto the Alumni Portal. If you do not have access please contact the Alumni Office at alumni@rochester.edu for your unique ID number to get started.

Does the University offer career services for alumni?

Yes, the Gwen M. Greene Center for Career Education and Connections offers a variety of services and resources for alumni. Full details can be found here.

 

Alumni are also encouraged to take advantage of a wide range of electronic and in-person tools and programs to help navigate their professional paths.

 

In addition, alumni are invited to join The Meliora Collective, an exclusive online platform that connects University of Rochester alumni, students, and friends by fostering professional exploration, networking, and mentorship.

Can alumni use the Campus Libraries - and can research databases be accessed remotely?

Alumni are welcome to visit the library. Staff will provide assistance in locating materials both in print and electronic format. Alumni may use library materials within the library, or print or photocopy them using the library's self-service printers and copiers. There is a fee for printing and copying. As a UR alumnus/a, you may bring your alumni ID to the circulation desk in either Rush Rhees or Carlson library.

 

University alumni can stay up to date with a wide variety of premium news and research content brought to their desktops by University Advancement, Alumni Relations, and the Libraries. With an Alumni Portal account, alumni may access this content from any location. If you already have an account, you can login and access the Alumni Library Gateway here. If you need a login, visit the Alumni Portal website to get started. Alumni may access the full range of the Libraries' licensed content while they are in the library. Off-campus access to selected resources is available through the Alumni Library Gateway.

How do I get an official transcript?

Transcripts can be ordered online (if you graduated in or after 1986), by mail, by fax, or in person. Full details can be found here.

How do I get an alumni ID card?

Visit the ID Office located on the first floor of Susan B. Anthony Hall. For hours, call (585) 275-3975. ID cards are free to alumni.

Are alumni allowed to park on campus?

Alumni are allowed one complimentary parking permit per month. Beyond that, visitors can purchase one-day permits at the visitors' booth near the Elmwood Avenue entrance. An Alumni ID is appreciated. Parking is free between 7 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Monday - Friday and throughout the weekend in non-reserved spaces.

Can alumni use the campus athletic facilities?

All faculty, staff, alumni, part-time students, and friends of the University are welcome to join the facility membership program, The R Club, at any time throughout the year. Membership fees include access to all of our facilities, including fitness classes, private or group tennis and squash lessons (additional fee), and participation in our club sports programs. The membership fee for Rochester alumni is $230 per year.
