W. Soccer Upended at RIT

HENRIETTA, N.Y. - RIT's Allyson Pisher chipped the ball into the goal with less than two minutes to play to give the Tigers a 2-1 victory over Rochester in women's soccer.

Pisher's gamewinner broke a 1-1 tie at 88:26. Rochester took a 1-0 lead at 10:59 when Kirsten Ross played a ball through the box and Ellen Coleman lined her eighth goal of the season into the back of the net.

The Tigers tied the score at 48:05. Sarah Frisicano floated a free kick to Ashley Pezze who headed it into the net.

For the match, Rochester outshot RIT, 16-13, but the Tigers held a 10-4 advantasge in shots in the second half. The Yellowjackets had three corner kicks to one for RIT.

Celeste Hornbach made eight saves for Rochester, five in the second half. Ashley Valenti made five saves for RIT, two in the second half. One of her two second half saves came in the 74th minute when she stopped a penalty kick.

The loss puts Rochester at 10-3-2 overall. RIT is 7-6-3 overall. Rochester has played five straight matches on the road (3-2 record). The Yellowjackets host Emory and Carnegie Mellon this weekend in University Athletic Association play. The regular season ends on November 7 at Case Western Reserve.
