UAA Honors Varin After Weekend's Performance

Rochester forward Bridgette Varin has been selected by the University Athletic Association (UAA) as the women’s soccer offensive player of the week for the week ending November 2, 2009.

Varin scored two game-winning goals in two Association games over the weekend. The junior scored with 17 seconds remaining in the first overtime period to lift the Yellowjackets past Emory University 1-0 on Friday. On Sunday, she scored the eventual game-winner in the 54th minute as the Yellowjackets defeated Carnegie Mellon University 2-1.

The goals were Varin’s fifth and sixth of the season. She is tied for ninth in the UAA in goals scored.
