Wendy Andreatta was named the University’s head field hockey coach during the summer of 2007. She came to Rochester after serving as an assistant coach at the University of Connecticut, Syracuse University, Hofstra University, and Columbia University.

In her first season on the sidelines, the Yellowjackets finished 10-8 overall. They wound up fifth in the Liberty League race with a 3-4 record.

The strong athletic/academic combination remained constant: at season's end, four players were named to the All-Liberty League team, two earned All-Region honors, and 14 were selected to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete team. Senior goaltender Rachel Cahan was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Team for the second straight year.

She was an assistant coach at Columbia for the 2005-06 and 2006-07 seasons. She assisted in all facets of the Lions’ field hockey program, including preparation and coaching of practice sessions, recruiting, and serving as a liaison with the Admissions, Financial Aid, and other campus offices. Additionally, she taught classes in Columbia’s Physical Education Program.

Andreatta had a highly successful playing career at the University of Connecticut. She was selected as the Big East Rookie of the Year and All Big-East Second Team in 1993. She was a First Team All-Big East honoree in 1994 through 1996. She earned All-Region honors in field hockey from the NFHCA in 1995 and 1996. She capped her career with selection as an NFHCA All-American in 1996. She holds Big East records for Points Scored in a Tournament (11 in 1996) and Points Scored in a Game (8 in 1996). She shares the Big East record for Goals Scored in a Game (3).

She was successful away from the field hockey pitch as well. Andreatta received a Big East Conference Post Graduate Scholarship in 1997. She received the UConn Club’s Outstanding Senior Scholar-Athlete Award in 1997. Additionally, she was named to the GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America University Division At-Large team in 1997. She graduated magna cum laude in December 1997 with a bachelor of arts in English and Anthropology.

Andreatta was an assistant coach for one year at Connecticut. She joined the coaching staff at Syracuse from 1998 to 2000. She earned a master’s degree in journalism from Syracuse in December 2000. She was an assistant coach at Hofstra from 2002-2004 while pursuing a master’s degree in English (conferred in 2004).

She has been active with the U.S. Field Hockey Association. She has been a head coach and site director for the USFHA's Futures Program since 2002. Andreatta was a head coach at the USFHA High School Open Camp in 2005 and 2006, and served as a head coach at the USFHA Junior Olympics in 2007 in Knoxville, Tennesee.

This is the first year on the staff for Ashley. She comes to the University after serving as a student assistant field hockey coach at her alma mater, Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI.

She was a four-year letterwinner for Michigan State University. Ashley’s playing career as a Spartan includes two Big Ten Conference Regular Season Championships, one Big Ten Tournament Championship, and two appearances in the NCAA tournament. In 2003, her squad made it to the NCAA Elite Eight, and in 2004, the Spartans played in the NCAA Final Four.

She was graduated from Michigan State in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with a cognate in Adapted Physical Activity and a Specialization in Coaching. Ashley is currently enrolled in the Warner School of Education pursuing a master’s degree in Education.

Suzanne is a volunteer assistant coach with the field hockey program at the University. She was the Youth Sports and Preschool Director for the YMCA of Greater Rochester in 2003-04 and a Fitness Staff Association with the same organization from 2001-03. She worked with the YMCA of Southeastern CT in Norwich, CT in 2000-01.

She played field hockey at the University of Connecticut from 1993-96, earning Second Team All-Big East Conference honors in 1996. She won Connecticut’s Frank Wright Award as the Most Improved Player that same year.

She was graduated from Connecticut in August, 1997 with a bachelor of science degree in Human Development and Family Relations.

Tarah joined the Yellowjackets staff in August 2009... Spent last five seasons with the Utica College field hockey program as both head coach (2007-2008) and assistant coach (2004-2006)... Led the Pioneers to a 15-20 record in two years as a head coach.

A native of Ontario, Canada, Christenson played at Division I Central Michigan University from 2000-2003... Co-captain for the 2003 season and was a 2003 Division I North/South Senior All-Star game selection, a West-Region Second Team selection, and a Mid-American Conference First Team and All-Tournament Team honoree... Graduated with a Bachelor of Applied Arts Degree from Central Michigan University in May 2004...

Tarah also instructed at the Syracuse University Field Hockey Camp, with the Futures Program, Merestead Sports Camps, and the Utica College Field Hockey Camp... Graduated in May 2007 with a Master of Science in Education Degree from Utica College.
