Clarence Onyiriuka rushed for 135 yards and three touchdowns. Braezen Subick threw for a career-high 289 yards and two touchdowns. Placekicker Zachary White-Stellato tied a school-record by kicking seven PATs. He also added a 39-yard field goal in the second quarter that put Rochester ahead to stay.
The Yellowjackets registered six sacks (two by Trenten Tully), forced six fumbles (recovered three), and intercepted three passes. Brendan Pidgeon returned an interception 32 yards for a TD late in the fourth quarter and Nick Filion recovered a fumble in the end zone for a TD after Thane Greene sacked backup quarterback Carlton Hobkirk.
Onyiriuka rushed 33 times for 135 yards. He scored on TD runs of 10 yards in the first quarter, 17 yards late in the third and two yards early in the fourth. Subick was 21 of 31 for 289 yards. He threw a 33-yard TD pass to Adam Barrett with 57 seconds left in the second quarter. He threw a five-yarder to Corey Brizzee with six minutes left in the fourth. Michael Coolbaugh caught 11 passes for 169 yards, both career bests.
White-Stellato tied a record for made PATs that was originally set by Dick Rasmussen in 1971 vs. Williams and matched by T.J. Jasonis against Brockport in 1983.
Merchant Marine QB Derrick Ventre was 16 of 27 for 198 yards and two TDs. He was intercepted three times and sacked five times.
Visiting Susquehanna scored 10 second half points and held off a late Rochester charge to secure a 17-14 win.[read more]
