Dan Wesley took over as Rochester's head golf coach on July 1, 2007. He returned to his Alma Mater in January 2006 as assistant coach under Rich Johnson. Wesley earned All-UAA honors as a golfer at Rochester for three consecutive seasons. He competed in the NCAA Division III National Championships three times under Don Smith from 1992-1994 and served as captain of the 1994 team.

He graduated from the University in 1996 with a baccalaureate degree in psychology. Wesley served as assistant golf professional at The Country Club of Rochester and The Ocean Reef Club in Key Largo, Fla.

“I’m thrilled to be back here coaching the team I was so proud to once be a part of,” Wesley said. “I had the privilege of playing at Rochester under Don Smith, and am honored to now lead this program into the future”.

“There is a storied tradition of success here, both on the golf course and in the classroom, and my challenge is to continue this tradition.”

His first two years as coach have been a success for Wesley. Rochester has won twice and recorded 8 runner-up finishes.

The individual highlights in Wesley’s first two seasons include 2008 University Athletic Association Champion and Rookie of the Year (Ryan Williams), 2009 UAA Rookie of the Year David Wien, 2009 Fred Kravetz Invitational Champion Michael Chudacoff, and two GCAA Scholar Athletes (Stephen Goodridge, Jon Pecor).

Wesley worked in the golf industry with Dunlop-Maxfli Sports Corporation from 1998-2001, and most recently with Srixon Sports USA from 2003-2007.

Wesley resides in Pittsford, NY with his wife, Kelly (UR ’00), and daughter Emma.
