Clifford Roman Speegle

• Longtime coach and physical education instructor
• Coached the swimming and diving team for 31 years
• Also coached the men's track and field team
• His all-time swimming and diving record was 135 wins, 123 losses, and 3 ties
• Coached undefeated teams in 1936-37 (8-0) and 1938-39 (9-0)
• Came to the University directly from the campus of Oberlin College in the fall of 1926
• Was cited by the University for his service to the school and the students
• When the Zornow Sports Complex was completed in 1982, the pool was dedicated in his name as the Speegle-Wilbraham Aquatic Center
