Donald C. Smith
- Retired from the University in December, 1995 after a 40-year career as both a coach
and an administrator
- Coached the golf team for 27 seasons with 14 consecutive appearances in the NCAA
Division III National Championships and a ranking in the Top 20 every year from 1982-1995
- Finished in the top 10 at nationals five times from 1989-1995
- NCAA Division III District II Coach of the Year three times
- University Athletic Association Coach of the Year six times
- In 1993, he received the Gordin Citation for longtime contributions to intercollegiate
golf
- Retired as the Associate Director of Men's Athletics at the University in 1991
- Graduated from the University of Massachusetts in 1952 where he lettered in football
and baseball
- Earned an M.S. in Physical Education from Springfield College in 1955
- Joined Rochester's football staff in 1955
- From 1963-68, he had a 26-21 record as Rochester's head football coach
- Coached baseball from 1960-64 (37-17 record) and assisted with basketball from 1955-60
