Rochester took one of the three doubles matches against Ithaca, with Matt Volkov and Dan Barbash winning, 9-8, at number three over Joseh Berggrun and Morocco.
In singles vs. the Bombers, Brian Schmeer defated Jim Newton, 1 and 4, at #3 while Austin Armstrong downed Dan Wolf, 3 and 4, at #4.
Five of the six singles matches vs. Nazareth were dominated by Rochester. Brian Bowman (#1), Bennett Peterson (#2), and Schmeer (#3) all won their events 1 and 1. Armstrong was a 6-0, 6-0 winner at #4. Sean Mackman defeated Brett Beaver, 6-2, 6-3, at #5 in his collegiate deubt. (His match vs. Ithaca at #6 did not finish.) Alex Magill won, 6-3, 7-6 (7) AT #6.
l The doubles pairings of Bowman and Schmeer (at #1, 8-6), Peterson and Armstrong (#2, 8-3), and Volkov and Barbash (at #3, 8-1) all won.
In the win over RIT to secure fifth place, Schmeer, Armstrong, Patrick Sheehan, and Mackman were all straight-set winners in third through fifth singles respecitvely. Peterson won a 10-6 tiebreak in the third set to claim a 6-1, 2-6, 10-5 win at #2. Bowman was nicked on a tiebreaker, 3-6, 6-3, 7-10, at #1.
The doubles pairings showed Peterson.Armstrong winnins 8-2 at #2 and Volkov/Barbash winning, 8-2, at #3. In firt doubles, Bowman and Schmeer were victorious, 9-7.
