Men's tennis cruised to a 9-0 victory over visiting St. John Fisher College on Thursday.[read more]

He won straight set victories over opponents from RIT (3+0) and Nazareth (3+1), then beat teammate Joel Allen in the semifinals (6-0, 6-4). He lost the title match, 4-6, 0-6. Allen won, 1 and 3 vs. St. Lawrence in round one, then outlasted a Hamilton foe, 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 to reach the semis. The third C Singles entrans for Rochester was Alex Magill. He lost his opener, 3-6, 6-7 (5).
In the B Singles, Patrick Sheehan was a 7-6 (0), 6-2 winner in round one vs. Nazareth, then lost, 2-6, 1-6 to Hamilton in the second round. Sean Mackman lost his opener to St. Lawrence.
The lengthiest match of the competition may have been Brian Schmeer's opener in A Singles. He lost, 6-7 (5), 7-6 (5), 6-10 to a Nazareth opponent. Brian Bowman drew a bye in round one, beat St. Lawrencfe, 2 and 2, in round two, then lost to Hamilton in the semis (6-0, 4-6 7-10).
Bowman and Schmeer drew a bye in A Doubles, They lost their second round match, 5-8, to Hamilton. In B Doubles, Volkov and Sheehan drew a bye, then won, 8-6, over Nazareth. They lost in the semifinals, 5-8, to RIT. Magill and Allen paired in B Doubles. They opened with an 8-4 win over Nazareth, then lost, 2-8, to St. Lawrence.
