Martin Heath, a highly-ranked player on the world circuit, was named the University's head squash coach in mid-summer, 2005.

Heath has touched the sport on many levels – player, coach, writer, and commentator. He joined the Professional Squash Association world circuit in 1993. He spent six consecutive years in the World’s top 10 ranking, reaching a high of #4. He was a six-time Scottish champion.

In 2000, Heath became a professional commentator and presenter for various televised squash media outlets, including ESPN, TSN, CBC, BBC, SKY, and The Tennis Channel. He is a monthly columnist for Squash magazine, the largest publication of its type in North America.

He has coached privately for numerous years and helped many individuals achieve their college placements.

Heath graduated from the University of Glasgow with a BSc in Physiology and Sports Science. In 2003, he earned a private pilot’s license from the Virginia Flight School in Durban, South Africa.

In 2004-05, Rochester won the Conroy Division of the College Squash Association Team Championships. The Yellowjackets defeated George Washington University, 5-4, in the championship match. That win followed victories over MIT (7-2) and Haverford College (8-1). Overall, the Yellowjackets were 8-13.

Heath takes over for David Kay who resigned late in the spring.

Chris begins his second year with the Yellowjacket squash program after a strong playing career with Kenyon College. He served as the President and captain of the squash club at Kenyon from 2004-2007. He was selected as a College Squash Association Scholar-Athlete in 2006 and received the Residential Life Excellence in Leadership Award in 2005. Fennell was also a member of Kenyon's Housing and Grounds Committee.

He is a magna cum laude graduate of Kenyon with a baccalaureate degree in honors history in 2007. He was a four-year member of the Dean's List and received Kenyon's Distinguished Academic Scholarship from 2003-2007. He was awarded the Raymond Dubois Cahall Prize for Excellence in the Field of History in 2006, the Landon Warner Research Grant for international study in 2006, and the Alan G. Goldsmith Memorial Prize in 2006 and 2007.

In the summer of 2008, Fennell coached at Princeton Squash Camps and the Power Squash Academy. He is also active in the local squash community, playing in club and city leagues.

Fennell is pursuing an MBA at the University's Simon School of Business.
