Senior midfielder Abby Woodward (Pittsford, NY/Pittsford Sutherland) was named to the First Team. Senior attack Lindsay Dakin (Henrietta, NY/Rush-Henrietta) was named to the Second Team. Midfielder Danielle Mondro (Concord, NH/Bishop Brady) and defender Marlena Fisher (Derry, NH/Pinkerton Academy) were accorded Honorable Mention status.
This is the third Liberty League selection for Woodward, her second First Team honor. She was named to the Second Team in 2006 and the First Team in 2007. Dakin has been honored in all four years – First Team (and Rookie of the Year) in 2006, Honorable Mention in 2007 and 2008, Second Team in 2009.
Fisher has received Honorable Mention status in each of the last three seasons – 2007, 2008, 2009. This is the first All-Liberty League honor for Mondro.
Woodward enters the 2009 Liberty League playoffs at Union third in scoring. In 16 games, she has 39 goals and five assists for 44 points. She converted eight of 12 free position shots, collected 29 ground balls, caused 19 turnovers (second high) and won 26 draw controls.
Dakin leads the team in scoring with 49 goals and 11 assists for 60 points. She has scored a team-leading 10 goals from the free position. She collected 22 ground balls, won 30 draws, and caused four turnovers. Two of her goals were gamewinners.
Fisher led Rochester in caused turnovers with 19. She won 22 draw controls and collected 25 ground balls. In each of her four varsity seasons, she played with the women’s basketball team, helping the Yellowjackets to the Sweet 16 round of the NCAA tournament. When basketball ended each year, she joined lacrosse.
Mondro was the team leader in draw controls. She won 39 in her 16 starts. She tallied 19 goals and added two assists for 21 points. She scored four times from the free position. She scooped 25 ground balls and caused 11 turnovers.
