Four Win Twice for Women's Tennis

ITHACA, N.Y. - Four women won in both singles and doubles for the women's tennis team at the New York State Championships being hosted by Ithaca College.

Frances Tseng, Alexandra Goodman, Danielle Shreck and Jamie Bow posted two wins apiece on Friday. The tournament is scheduled to run through Sunday.

Tseng defeated Laura Hale of St. John Fisher, 6-0, 6-0, in the first singles bracket. Goodman topped Jessica Sitzer of RPI, 6-2, 6-2, in the second singles bracket. At third singles, Shreck downed Brittany Gilbert of Union, 6-3, 6-0. Bow was a 6-2, 6-0 winner over Holly Seideward of Alfred at fourth singles.

Jillian Dann lost to Kelly Noble of Nazareth, 6-3, 7-5, at fifth singles. Cindy Zu lost, 6-1, 6-1, to Melissa Nunez of Ithaca at #6.

In doubles, Goodman and Tseng defeated Christien Roe and Sitzer of RPI, 8-2, at #1. Bow and Shreck combined for an 8-4 win over Noble and Alexandra Vizgaitis of Nazareth at #2. The third doubles team of Dann and Zu was defeated, 8-1, by Ariel Sultan and Lisa Mojovic of NYU.
