Just Starting yoUR Job Search?
“Getting started” means many things, depending upon your unique situation. Please review the following exclamations and queries to determine which best match your circumstances.
- I haven’t a clue where to begin!
- I’ve got a resume, now what?
- I can’t articulate my goals, is that bad?
- I don’t know where to find postings!
- Is there a way to find alumni(ae) in fields that interest me
- I don’t even know what the Career Center does!
- How do I start a resume, or cover letter?
- Aren’t I too old for career counseling?
If any of the above sounds like you, the first step should be to register with the Career Center by completing our brief Alumni Registration Form. Once we receive this information via the form, we will follow with a few emails and you’ll be connected with a counselor. Your counselor might focus on goal setting, resume writing, networking or employer identification (please see our Ten Steps to yoUR Success Page if you would like to begin on your own). Or, you might be educated how to use the Rochester Alumni Exchange. So, as UR a recent grad who just graduated, a young alumnus(a) who has been out a few years, or an experienced alum, yoUR first step to job search success is to point and click. We’ll take it from there!
