oUR Curriculum & Academic Offerings

Rochester students work with and are trained by professors who are committed teachers as well as acclaimed researchers. Our unique academic programs, fostering interaction between researchers and students, draw national attention:

• About 18 percent of our undergraduates earn a “Management Studies Certificate,” preparing them for business opportunities while complementing academic undertakings in liberal arts, engineering or other disciplines.  The certificate requires completion of courses taught by faculty of the College and of the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration.  Core courses within statistics, computer science, economics and accounting are supplemented by specialized “track” courses in Accounting/Finance, Public Sector Analysis, Personnel Management, Marketing, Production, and Information Systems.
  
• The distinctive Rochester Curriculum, via majors, minors, and “clusters” of thematically linked courses produces students well versed in a variety of subjects who are eager to learn more and trained to blend research, analysis and communication skills.

• Motivated (96% in top quartile of HS class; 77% in top decile)
• Experienced (96% of our students have had at least one internship/career-related experience by the time they graduate. 75% have had two or more.)

• Entrepreneurial (The college offers 31 entrepreneurship-related courses and 640 students participated in an entrepreneurial program last year)
• Organized and involved (Over 200 student-run clubs on campus)
• Team players (70% of students participate in intramural sports with many more involved in varsity athletics and club sports)
