Recruiting Options

The Gwen M. Greene Career and Internship Center offers a variety of recruiting options to meet our employer’s hiring goals. These range from traditional on-campus career fairs and interviews, to more innovative digital options. You can also download this in a .pdf document

Traditional On-Campus Recruiting Options:

  • Electronic Job and Internship Postings: Submit internship and post-baccalaureate positions for posting in our online database, CareerLink (powered by Experience), and candidates will apply to you throughout the academic year or based on your pre-set timeframe. (no fee)
  • Resume Collections: Provide a job description and a deadline date, and the Career Center will collect resumes and send them to you by e-mail, fax, and/or postal mail by your desired date. (no fee)
  • On-Campus Interviewing: Promote your organization and interview on our campus! Schedules can easily be arranged. (no fee)
  • Fall and Spring Career and Internship Days: Attend our recruiting fairs on October 12, 2011 and February 15, 2012 to connect with students face-to-face, and pair with a subsequent on-campus interview date. (registration fee applies)
  • On-Campus Information Sessions: Connect with students, present information on your organization, high flexibility in scheduling. (cost based on A/V, Catering and Event needs)

Networking Event/Student Connection Options

  • Teaching a skill-based seminar: Co-sponsored by related student organizations, teach students a skill needed in your industry. Past examples have included valuation, reading financial statements, case interviewing, and software programs.
  • Sponsoring a networking reception with small presentation: Linked to a particular group of students, major or organization, recruiters network with students more informally, but also include a short presentation on the company
  • Sponsoring a large on-campus Alumni-Student Networking Night: Held adjacent to our On-Campus Career Days, events bring alumni and students together for an evening of networking. Sponsorship can range from sending a UR alumni working at your company to participate up to high-level sponsoring and branding of event
  • Hosting a Networking/Information Session/”Road Trip” visit at your company: In the local Rochester area, can be done throughout the year. Other metro areas, can be linked to one of our off-campus programs or held during academic breaks.

Virtual Recruiting Options

  • Remote Phone Interview Scheduling - Similar to traditional campus interviews, where off-site recruiter can call into the interview room to conduct a phone screen. Combines traditional interview scheduling with dial-in option. (no fee)
  • Video Interviewing – Easily set up through services like Skype (no fee), other options available based on employer technology needs
  • Video/Webinar Information Sessions– Information sessions without the travel! Company representatives present session/webinar from their own computer, which is streamed to the Career Center conference room and an audience of students.
    • For employers who already have webinars created and broadcast abilities, we can arrange room for student viewing and promote to students. (no fee)
    • For employers interested in this option that do not have previously established webinars or presentations, we can work with you to find a user-friendly platform (cost varies by product)

In addition to these options, we also offer a variety of Off-Campus Recruiting Programs, as well as Corporate Sponsorship options.
