Student Employment
Information and assistance for students who wish to work at the University of Rochester or explore off-campus employment opportunities in the Rochester area. Student employment is open to all full-time students at the university.
Career Counseling
The UR VIPS Search Program is a blend of formalized testing, individual counseling, and targeted action steps developed to facilitate students gaining focus and, in time, stating clear career related goals.
Internship Programs
Programs that link experiential learning, career development and, in some cases, financial assistance. These include UR Community Service Internship Program, Industry Practicum, , and Reach Funding.
Hyman J.V. Goldberg Library
Printed and electronic media available to assist with researching careers, companies, summer employment, internships, job openings, graduate schools, and more.
yoUR Career Link
An online database that allows students to register for on-campus recruiting, submit resumes for referral to internship and post-graduation employers, view postings and link to employers websites.
Career and Employment Programs
Events include Career and Internship Days, Law School and Graduate School Nights, Investment Banking, Finance & Consulting Day, Career & Internship Connection (CIC) off-campus recruiting programs are offered in New York City, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, and Washington D.C.
Job/Internship Search Coaching
Staff are available by appointment or during daily and library hours to assist students seeking on and off-campus employment, internships and summer jobs, or full-time permanent jobs, for assistance with resumes, cover letters, interviewing skills, and job search strategies.
Graduate and Pre-Professional School Advising
Information on selecting graduate and pre-professional programs (law school, medical school, business school) and assistance with all admission processes is available in the library or through individual appointments.
Recommendations File
A service that allows students to store and request letters of recommendation to be mailed to graduate and professional schools as well as educational employment. Questions about recommendations should be directed to the front desk or contact Debbie Ortolani.
