WHAT SERVICES ARE MOST CRITICAL OR INNOVATIVE?

For some, at first glance the most critical services are associated with "placement" activities, including on- and off-campus recruiting, posting, and resume collection services.

The Center staff believes that pResearch (research before job search) services and resources are foundations upon which all successes are built. Our Goldberg Career Library's printed and web-accessed materials offer students with varied interests, competencies and perspectives the opportunity to conduct thorough and goal directed research to answer the often posed "What can I do with a major in" query. Teaching goal setting and job search skills, which can be utilized during undergraduate years and beyond, is a critical component of our mission. We are a comprehensive and multi-faceted "career services facility," not just a "placement office." The UR Resume Collections and Career and Internship Connections are innovative, and our “Opportunities In…” series of "what can I do with a major in" printed and web-based publications have been recognized by faculty and students as creative and comprehensive.
