The Senior Checklist

This is a suggested timeline for Seniors. YoUR experience may be different. Make an appointment with a Career Counselor to discuss your Steps-to-Success.

Visit the career Center often. Attend all alumni(ae) networking offerings. Identify grad school options. Complete paper-and-pencil and people-to-people pResearch. Complete Information Conversation and Shadowing. Reevaluate and redefine pResearch goals. Redefine graduate school and job search strategies. Complete pResearch and Job Search efforts. Complete grad school applications and testing. Obtain field-specific internships. Implement recruiting and self initiated job search.

  • Register with the Career Center by field(s) of interest using yoUR CareerLink.
  • Revise Resume and other supplemental materials.
  • Continue to explore relationships between majors, minors, clusters, and careers; setting tentative goals.
  • Identify potential graduate school options.
  • Explore relationship between Take 5 and careers.
  • Prepare for and take appropriate tests.
  • Complete focused Information Conversations.
  • Attend New York, Boston, DC, San Francisco and/or Chicago Career and Internship Connection events over the January break and other events of interest.
  • Implement targeted internship, job search, grad school, and related post-baccalaureate strategies.
  • If appropriate, participate in on-campus recruiting.
  • Obtain summer internship or job in field of interest.
