Visual Resources Collection (VRC)

The Visual Resources Collection (VRC) is a collection of over 125,000 images covering the history of visual culture. Most of the images are 35mm slides, but some mounted pictures, digital images, and lantern slides are also available. Within the facility are light tables for viewing and organizing slides, projection equipment for polishing presentations, and a slide scanner for incorporating images into papers and web sites. Although the Collection is located in the Art/Music Library on the ground level of Rush Rhees Library, it is staffed and maintained by the Department of Art and Art History. Kim Kopatz is the Curator of the Collection. The Visual Resources Collection is open to anyone in the University community with a current University ID, and materials are loaned for a three-day period.
