Energy for the 21st Century
That's the goal of the University of Rochester's new Energy Research Initiative (ERI)—a multidisciplinary program that is college-wide.
The Energy Research Initiative tackles research and development issues at the core of alternative energy and also focuses on the social, political, and economic impact of existing and new forms of energy.
This multidisciplinary effort aims at producing breakthroughs in science and technology while training students in the critical field of energy, and working with industry to transform innovations into products.
Multiple researchers from departments within the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (including the Institute of Optics and the Laboratory for Laser Energetics), departments from Arts and Science (including Chemistry and Political Science), and the Simon School of Business are involved.
